Cabling provider competency standards
To ensure that the safety and network integrity of the installation is maintained, in addition to the mandatory cabling provider registration requirements, it is recommended that the cabling provider meet appropriate competency standards for installation and repair work in each of the following categories, where relevant
to the work being done:
(a) Structured, balanced (twisted pair) cabling.
(b) Optical fibre cabling.
(c) Coaxial cabling.
(d) Underground cabling.
(e) Aerial cabling.
(f) Fire detection and alarm systems.
(g) Lifts, escalators and moving walks.
(h) Intruder alarm systems.
(i) Building control and automation systems.
Course Structures
There are two time frames in which we conduct courses.
(1) Full Time Courses
Start Time 8:00 am
Finish Time 4:30 pm
Incorporates 2 x coffee breaks and 1 x Lunch Break
(1) Part Time Courses are designed to cause minimum disruption to the working week. At Workplace Technologies we understand that to loose a valuable Technician for a couple of days is a major loss in revenue.
For this reason we have tailored our part time courses to start after the normal working day is finished
Start Time 5:00 pm
Finish Time 9.00 pm
Incorporates 2 x coffee breaks
